When your text or image is uploaded
Typing text, pasting an image or choosing a file prepares a draft in your browser. The website may resize an image in the browser before uploading it.
For Summary, Email Helper, Image to Text and Remove Background, pressing Check price uploads the complete request text, reply instructions or prepared image to Stylometrics. We validate the input and calculate its maximum price. A price check does not call the AI provider or charge for processing. When you accept the price and run the tool, the input is submitted again and sent to an external provider to produce the result: OpenRouter and its routed model provider for text tools, or fal.ai for background removal.
For the AI detector, pressing Check text sends the text to Stylometrics for its price check and scan. Processing uses our configured detector infrastructure and an external model provider for supporting analysis.
API quote requests also upload their full input to Stylometrics. Provider processing starts with an admitted run request.
Drafts and results in your browser
Draft text, selected images and results are held in browser memory. We do not write that content to local storage or session storage. Reloading or closing the tab clears this memory. The detector keeps its draft during navigation within Stylometrics in the same tab; other tool drafts and results may be lost when you leave their workspace.
For an unfinished utility request, the current tab’s session storage keeps a recovery reference containing the tool, account ID, request key and start time. It contains no submitted text, images or results. This lets a reloaded page check the original request’s status and try temporary result recovery without starting another provider call. Unfinished references are removed when a final receipt is handled. A separate reference for a completed background-removal image stays until its recovery period ends; session storage is normally cleared when the tab session ends. If your browser blocks this storage, the tab cannot restore its reference after a reload. Background-removal website requests can still be recovered from your account history during their recovery period.
Copying or downloading a result creates a copy under your control. Detector observations and generated text can include parts of your submission. Copy or download anything you want to keep.
Temporary result recovery
For Summary, Email Helper and Image to Text, Stylometrics keeps completed output text in server memory for up to 10 minutes to help recover a lost response. This includes transcribed image text; generated text may reproduce parts of your input. That copy may disappear sooner after a restart, deployment or a full cache, or be unavailable if another server handles the recovery request. Recovery requires the original signed-in session or API key.
For Remove Background, we save the processed PNG encrypted on our server for 24 hours. The PNG retains the foreground from your upload. It can be recovered after a restart or deployment using the same account for a website request, or the original active API key for an API request. Your account history links to eligible website results. We do not save the uploaded source image.
Recovery checks the original request’s financial status and does not call the provider again. Background-removal images are deleted when their recovery period ends. A completion record containing request and billing metadata may remain until settlement is confirmed; it does not contain the image. Other tool outputs share a limited memory cache and may be evicted sooner. Copy or download results you want to keep.
External processing
Summary, Email Helper, Image to Text and the detector’s model assessment use OpenRouter and a routed model provider. Remove Background sends your prepared image to fal.ai. Those services have their own processing and retention rules; we do not promise that they never retain submitted content. Only submit material you are permitted to share with them.
The detector also runs on Stylometrics’s configured scoring infrastructure. Each completed reading’s Details identifies the service used. Email Helper creates a draft for you to review; it does not send email.
Accounts and payments
We retain your email address, account and session records, API-key records, credit balance, payment identifiers and usage receipts. These receipts include the tool, price, status, input size or word count, provider usage and a keyed request fingerprint used to prevent duplicate charges. Submitted text, images and full results are not included in your account’s usage history.
A document hash can accompany a detector result and an exported report. Hashes and request fingerprints are identifiers; they do not make a submission anonymous.
Sign-in emails pass through our email delivery service. Card payments are handled by Stripe; Stylometrics does not receive your full card details.
